I’m delighted to be supporting a services based business with the recruitment of a Senior Accountant to join their expanding team. With a modern approach and big plans for growth and investment my client is in an enviable position in the local market.
We’re looking for someone who either has experience as a Financial or Management Accountant and looking to develop or has trained within practice and seeking a move into commerce.
As Senior Accountant your role will be to:
- Supervise a small team, assist with the management of their workflow, delegate and review tasks and assist with the development/enhancement of team specific procedures
- Preparation and review of quarterly management accounts
- Review of annual accounts and preparation of complex sets of accounts
- Manage the quarterly reporting and annual reporting cycles
- Manage the process of VAT returns
- Support the Manager with the client billing process for the team
- Attend client meetings in respect of accounting matters as required
- Communicate to directors regarding outstanding work and situations involving the accounts department and its clients
- Assist the Manager in analysing clients’ key performance indicators for submission with the management accounts
About you
- You’ll hold a recognised accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA) and ideally have experience of developing and coaching others.
- This role would suit someone who is looking to move from professional practice into commerce or is looking to utilise their fund accounting experience in a new and exciting role as Senior with further opportunities to progress.
- Equally the role would suit a Financial or Reporting Accountant is looking to develop.
- Direct experience of producing financial statements and management accounts is required.
- Experience in producing financial statements to IFRS, UK GAAP or other appropriate standards for a range of entities is ideal as is experience of preparation of VAT returns
- We’re looking for candidates who have some experience in developing and coaching juniors
